Access Control
What is Access Control?
This can mean either:
Door Entry – Entry which is controlled by someone as in, an occupant of a flat or an office.
Access Control – Automatic access by means of card, code or proximity token.
Why do I need a Door Entry system?
If you want to know when and who are requesting to gain entry to your premises. You can control who comes in and who doesn’t ,this can either be done by using an audio (voice) system where you can speak to the person wishing to gain entry or by video where you can see and speak to the person. With a simple press of a button you can release a lock which will allow that person to gain entry.
Why do I need an Access Control system? If you need to control who is coming in,out, at what times and who can have access to what parts of the building .For instance if you do not want a member of staff to be able to gain access to a certain part of the building or room you can program their card or fob to exclude them from gaining entry. You can also program their card or fob so they can only have access to areas at certain times of the day.You can have time and attendance logs that advise you when and what time staff come in or go out and what areas they have gained access to and at what times.
When would I use a door entry system ? If you have a single or blocks of flats,an office,or a building with multiple businesses operating from different offices that each need to have control of who enters the building.

Security Tips:
Perimeter Security – ensure your doors and windows have good quality locks and are not left open, even when you are at home.
Security systems – Good security systems are not cheap in the short term, if you invest in quality security systems now which will deliver good service for you for many years ,this will become cheaper in the long run.
Security Lighting – Improve your exterior lighting without blinding the neighbours. Ensure that exterior lights (500W and above) are installed at high level to look downwards and give a larger area of coverage rather than pointing directly at persons or other peoples property.
Dummy security doesn’t provide protection. Dont be fooled into thinking that dummy alarm boxes can protect your property replacing the need for a working Alarm systems. The weakness is there to be exposed when the burglar calls!
Neighbourhood watch – Be a good neighbour and enjoy the benefits of good neighbourhood. If you see anyone acting suspiciously in your neighbourhood, call the police.
